Not Worth The Drive
The 103d Street Gentlemen’s Club is on the far western outskirts of Jacksonville on, you guessed it, 103d Street. I understand it used to be called The Blue Angel, and before that, Magoos. It’s in a small shopping center. The area doesn’t looks great, but not too bad either. I didn’t feel unsafe parking and walking in after dark at about 9:30 p.m.
There was a small counter just inside the door, but the doorman was sitting at the bar with his back to men. He paid no attention to me when I walked in and took a seat at the bar. If he had, and had asked me for a cover charge, I probably would have turned around and walked out. The place was empty.
It looks kind of nice, like it has been recently remodeled (perhaps to go along with the recent name change). I wouldn’t call it a dive, but it’s not an upscale place for sure. There is a large square bar just inside the door, restrooms on the other side of the bar. To the left is a runway stage projecting from the left wall, seating in between. Along the back wall across from the stage was a row seats separated from the main floor area with a rope line. I’m guessing this was the lap dance area since I didn’t see anywhere else that looked like lap dance area.
