Good visit to VIP, but know what you're getting into

I went to the VIP Club at about 8:30 on a Thursday. Not much happening onstage, and not many guys, but probably 15+ girls, some ok, some pretty hot. They sell pretty hard; even more than most clubs, they're really really trying to get you to the VIP room, which is really overpriced at about $500 for 30 minutes. Likewise, they're pretty interested in pumping drinks into you. The club seems a little shady relative to other nice clubs in Manhattan; nothing at all bad happened to me, but I'd be careful with credit cards.

All that said, the girls I got dances from--two good-looking Brazilians and a gorgeous French girl, were willing to work it pretty hard while trying to upsell, so it was actually good value. I was a little ambiguous about whether I'd go upstairs, and the Brazilians in particular tried very hard to convince me. One (her name was Sam) would just hang out after I'd done a few lap dances, flirting, touching, trying to keep me horny. I liked that, and ended up spending quite a bit on regular dances with her throughout the evening; she'd do a few, then hang out for a bit, then do a few more.

So I had a good experience, but I'll confess I've got kind of a thing for girls who are a little predatory. I almost got drunk enough to go upstairs (with both Brazilians); very difficult "no" after a couple hours in the club. If you like the vibe I've described, I think you'll like it. But if you go there multiple times (and I'll be back) I have a feeling you're going to end up spending a *lot* of money at some point.
