Super quick stop at Desire

I was driving from Boston to NYC and stopped into Desire, mostly based on the reviews here.

The club: I probably only spent 20 minutes in the building, so I didn't really get a chance to take it in, but Desire seems like a pretty nice club. It's right near downtown Providence, in a building that looks like it was an old railroad or port warehouse. The surrounding neighborhood is slightly sketchy, but Desire is set off a bit from it, with a huge parking lot, so adjacent areas shouldn't have too much of an effect on it. Inside, you go down a hall into the main room, which actually seemed fairly small to me considering all the reviews and how popular the place seems to be. Once you're in the room, bar is on the right and a small stage is on the left, with seating surrounding it and a few low walls. More to the left is the hall to the private dance rooms, with an attendant at a booth waiting to collect the house fee. My first stop was the restroom, which was down a long black hallway that was pretty difficult to navigate having come in from the near-noon sun.

When I came back into the main room, there was a dancer on stage who was fairly attractive, so I sat down stageside and tipped her, but her set was just ending so she didn't have time to do a dollar dance or anything. Instead, she asked if I wanted a private dance, and I agreed, so off we went. $40 to the house, $100 to the dancer, and we were given a booth number for our 15 minutes. I don't know if all the booths have this issue, but I was in booth 2, and the loveseat was seriously uncomfortable. I sat down in the middle of it, as one does, and there was a hard ridge right at that point, so I shifted over to one side, but the dancer put me back in the middle so she could do her thing. The dancer was a tiny little Portuguese woman (definitely Portuguese, not Brazilian - I checked) who looked like she was in her 30s, maybe up to 40, but was pretty and had a rocking tight bod with proportionate implants. Our dance was pretty standard for a strip club, and nice and sensual enough to take my mind off the uncomfortableness of the chair, but no extras were offered or asked for. The dancer was very friendly and kept telling me I should go to Portugal to find a woman. After we were done I walked right out of the club. I didn't pay a cover, didn't buy a drink, so the $140 was my total expenditure for the visit. I didn't get too much of a chance to look at the other dancers, but from the glimpses I got they seemed generally attractive and I probably would have been happy getting a dance from most of them.
