American back at Chez Diane

It’s been a few years, so I ventured up to Chez Diane as a birthday gift for myself. Things haven’t changed much since my last visit, but that’s not all bad.

The usual ring the doorbell, they let you in for $5 cover. Again, as typical in these small places, a pretty and attentive bartender/waitress, non-dancer, served me. Beers were around $7. Small-ish crowd, maybe 8 guys, a couple alone, the rest in groups of 2-3.

There were about 6 girls working, this is around 7:00 PM on a Saturday. They let me enjoy my beer for about 15 minutes, then one comes and sits with me. She was a bit heavy, Anglophone, mid-20’s. Not really my type, so after some small talk, politely told her I wasn’t interested. I’ve got better doing that over the years; just can’t go with the first girl that drops over.
