Had a fun time but should have left earlier...
I arrived for a first time visit on a Wednesday at almost seven, right before they started charging cover. In hindsight, I wish I would have gotten there an hour or so earlier to catch happy hour and to have a bit more time before the tone shifts into night mode (more on that later). When I got there, the front bar was full and thus I had to venture to the opposite end where I found the back bar relatively vacant. This ended up being a really decent spot to setup. Nice service from the bartender, a dancer actually dancing on a mini stage right at that bar, TVs to keep an eye on the game, and plenty of other dancers stopping by. There are also chairs on the floor nearby if you want to try to get the entry level floor dance from there. The number of dancers was great but the variety on this night could have been more diverse (vast majority were from Cuba or S. America, most of which spoke no english).
Typically, I like to hang out for a bit and survey the scene before considering jumping into a dance in the back. But that turned out to be a mistake on this night, as the most interesting and most aggressive dancer ended up coming up to me in the first hour and when I tried to just ease into it by asking for the cheaper floor dance, she seemed to lose interest and said she’d come back after her dinner (but then she ignored me the rest of the night). But the early night was still great. Several dancers were quite friendly and almost immediately gave the stripper handshake right at the bar. I was able to get quite a few cheap floor dances-some where that handshake continued for a bit during the dance and even one that had the wandering hand (too bad it was the least attractive girl of that hour or I would have probably escalated to the other room). I can’t complain one bit about that first 90 minutes. But then things seemed to transition to more of the night mode. Dancers seemed to be more mechanical and more driven by just the hustle. While I totally understand that, it just isn’t the type of atmosphere I’m looking for on an average night. Many of the dancers weren’t even trying to be friendly at that point. I do think some of the lack of connection was the language barrier but still...
I did end up finding one girl I could talk to. She was a southern girl, was very conversational and I finally took the plunge and went for a couple songs in the semi-private area. Unfortunately, it turned out to be tamer than almost all dances I had on the floor earlier in the night. All in all, I would definitely go back again but would be sure to go in for happy hour next time and leave before 9. I would also continue to just try the floor dances first before escalating to the other room but would be ready to make an exception for the right dancer.
