Not great........but not bad

I arrived at the Gold Club around 9:00 PM on a Tuesday evening and the first thing I noticed is that there was plenty of free parking in front of the club as well as additional parking on the side of the club. Not too many cars parked in front, but there were several cars parked on the left side of the building. The club is located across the street from a light rail train stop which may be a selling point for those who enjoy more than a few alcoholic drinks if you use the Charlotte Area Transportation System (CATS ?). Being a visitor to the city, I have no idea if any many people use the system or not, but I could see it being a plus to avoiding a DUI.

Upon entering the building, you walk to a “registration” desk where a $10 fee was collected along with a scan of my license. Guess I now have an alibi for 9:00 PM on Tuesday, if asked.

The club is average size with an “L” shaped bar in the back-left corner. There are probably 10 – 12 very uncomfortable wooden stools at the bar and the other 10 or so customers chose to sit at one of about 15 tables with larger than average red cushioned chairs. There is a 4 – 5 foot raised area to the left of the bar that I believe is a VIP area. I have no idea what it takes to become a VIP.
