Decent 'ol Peepers

I haven't been to Utica in awhile, but Peepers is the same as it ever was. It's a single room dominated by a thin, long stage that runs down the center. There are seats on both sides of the stage. Lighting is focused on the stage, so its good an dark, especially on the left as you come in (along the wall). At the far end is an elevated DJ booth. Tends towards popular R&B and AOR (seem to be WOUR fans). On the right side the wall runs up against a bar that unfortunately serves only soda. Alcohol-free fun here (so load up first). The guys that works the door was sleeping against the wall when i walked in. For admission price you get a free 'drink' - soda, etc.

The club is very low energy - no party atmosphere, at all. I'm not sure that if you showed up with a group and wanted to party, they would have the number of girls, or the girls with the right attitude to close the deal. If you go alone for a lap dance you're in better luck.

The VIP area is a narrow room with booths along one wall. There are partitions between the bench seats that provide visual privacy but not sound. I don't think there any cameras because nobody has ever come back and told me to keep my hands to myself (and they should have). Private dances are $20 for 3 songs.
