Smoke filled rotten tuna

Passing through in the late afternoon and thought I would take a gamble on Dollie's. This is a very sketchy neighborhood/light industrial area. I felt okay going during the day, but an evening visit would take a little more courage. From the outside, it looks like a run down dive bar in the middle of nowhere...it would take more than a few coats of paint to make it look at all inviting. The parking lot is a large dirt covered area that looks like it may have been paved with asphalt as some point a few decades ago. It had rained earlier, so there were quite a few large puddles to navigate through on the way to the entrance.

Walking into the fine establishment, you immediately notice the strong smoke smell and see a small stand where an elderly man will collect your token entrance fee ($3 I think, but I don't exactly remember). You can see three stages with a few old chairs and tables scattered around on the cavernous floor. Immediately to your right is a bar with 6 or so stools. There were two ladies with their faces in their phones, not really paying any attention to the four of us in the club. I asked for a diet Coke, with no intention of actually drinking it, but it seemed there was a drink minimum. I took my drink and sat on a chair in the middle of the floor to see if there was any passable talent.

Over the ensuing 30 minutes, I saw four dancers..the afore mentioned two AA ladies in the mid-to-late 30s sitting at the bar, one 40ish AA thicker dancer on the stage entertaining one of the older patrons, and one late 40s white women who should have hung up the heals a few years ago. I decided to cut my losses and try one of the other rundown neighborhood establishments. I realize my standards are a bit higher than average, but this wasn't even close do doable. If you are super desparate and don't mind dirty old neighborhood bars that having you smelling like smoke and rotten tuna on your drive home, take a look, but be prepared for disappointment.
