Visited: Sunday Evening

I had not been to the original Lumberyard in a while and I happened to be in town and had some free time on a Sunday evening so I stopped by. I arrived around 10 pm. Note: The Lumberyard in Des Moines, Lumberyard in Cedar Rapids and Daisy Dooks in Davenport are all owned by the same group.

The LY is located near the intersection of I-35 and I-80 so it is easy to get to, but it is about a mile off the interstate and a quarter mile down a dark road. This area is has cheap hotels (Motel 6, etc), a couple gas stations, and several truck terminals/yards. There are no signs to tell you where to turn so just look for the reflectors on the driveway and an industrial looking building with red trim/accents. There is plenty of parking around the building and it is well lighted.

You enter via a small foyer and get your ID inspected and pay your cover. It was $10 tonight. I think on the weekends it may be higher. Like most all clubs in Iowa it is BYOB and full nude (sort of). Once you pay you pass through another set of doors and you are in the club entryway or hallway. The restrooms are immediately to your left (and an even sharper left brings you to the cashier if you need more ones). A few more steps and you are in the main club. I believe on the left are the stairs up to the dancers dressing rooms, straight in front of you is the main stage (called top stage) and to the right are the private dancing areas. there are seats around the stage and seats along the wall to the left side of the stage and some table seating behind the stage. To the right of the stage is a a slightly lower level with additional seating and stages/poles. The main stage has two poles.
