New perspectives.
First time visiting the legendary Follies. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I had to be somewhere else that afternoon, so walked in knowing I had 90 minutes to 2 hours max.
I now understand why Follie's is considered by many to be the Gold Standard. By the time I got there, the parking lot was packed. Paid $10 to valet. While I do understand the complaints about having to valet, when you see the lot like it was, it does make sense. No cover charge when I walked in, a pat down at the door. She was not really even half-way interested though. Walked in the front door and the lack of light does require adjustment. You do walk in to a rather large "landing" area though. Bar is dead in front. There are two long L shaped stages that parallel the bar with walking room in between. Look down if you walk straight to the bar though....there is a step. Restrooms are to the right after walking in. Pitifully undersized with 5 heads. The troll was working, but frankly, he was pleasant enough and working hard to "help" you get your hands washed. As handsy as Follies is, for the girls sake it's probably a good idea to encourage folks to wash their hands. It so tight, you wont really get past him without doing so. Club was jam packed, so had to walk around looking for a seat. Several girls seemed to just be hanging out leaning on the stage while many more seemed to be working their magic. There were at least 30 girls working. And of every persuasion and flavor. Along one of the walls, I could have sworn one dude was getting his happy on. That or he was LDK.
Eventually found at seat at the bar. Sat for several minutes waiting on a drink.....2 bartenders working and could have used 4, easily. She took forever and finally showed up.
