Super slow Friday afternoon
This relates to a visit back in July, that I tried to post but it did not go through. I arrived about 1:30 pm because I thought the place opens at one o'clcok. Nothaing happening so I wnet up the street to a very good North Carolina barbacue place. Will come back there again. Went back to the club at about 2:25 and they are now open. go in and there are three dancers in sight, one on the stage and two near the bar. I sit down at the far end of the stage, and the dancer who had been dancing in the middle of the oval immediately goes to the far end of the circle to complete her tour on stage. she leaves the stage, I go over to the bar. Order a draft beer. About $4 I think.
Strike up a conversation with this 19 year old. She is very cordial but makes no attempt to move to the stage or to invite me for a dance. 25 minutes later, when she shows no sign of going on stage and the other two dancers are hanging out at the bar, I excuse myself. This is not the way that the Mile High used to operate on a Friday afternoon. there were frequently two dancers on the stages, one in the cneter of the room and one along the back row. I was the only customer! When I left about 3:15 there were two other dudes coming into the parking lot, one with a potential dancer in his car. Did not go back inside to see if there was going to be any acion. Drove over to Ebony Inn instead. Will not be going back unless the afternoon scene improves.
