Trip report - Night shift visit - Man on a mission

Recently made a rare night shift visit to visit an old favorite that had recently shifted from Henry VIII. I am almost exclusively a daytripper but I was on a mission.. I had intended to get there before 7pm to avoid the cover charge which I hate but traffic delayed me and I arrived around 7:15. Doorman/bouncer refused to cut me some slack so I paid $10 cover after parking in the always no-valet parking lot.

Club was near empty so I grabbed a table at the end of stage near the entrance. Club setup is virtually unchanged from last several years. Still no smoking in the main area with smokers accommodated in separate glassed-off smoking room. Bathroom still troll-free.

Ordered 2 domestic beers expecting the usual $9 charge. Waitress returned and asked for $8. I asked why not $9 as always and you would have thought I was speaking Russian. She was totally perplexed.
