In praise of manual gear shifts

On a long afternoon drive back from the part of Florida where there are no strip clubs, and with my flight back north 4 hours away, I diverted across the bridge to southeastern JAX. Sinsations sits almost forlorn on a busy cross street off Rt 1 behind a corner gas station. There were only a couple spaces in the fairly small parking lot in front, so I was guessing it was a busy afternoon. Once inside the empty entranceway, the darkened figure in the ticket window to the right announced a $5 cover (this was daytime), plus a reminder there was a one drink minimum but you could have free refills.

Entering from the bright sunshine outside, it took a while to adjust to the cavern-like darkness. A girl was flailing away on a stage with no one watching, with about six or seven other girls were sitting with four of five other guys scattered about, and a couple girls walking around. A few pool tables were lit in red at the back of the club with one geeky looking guy playing one of the dancers. The music was mainly rock and metal. One especially attractive girl was dressed in a black and white outfit, a helmet of blonde hair with none out of place, looking like she’d just walked off the set of Fox News Channel minus a skirt. After a quick pit stop (small bathroom, no troll, things worked), I went back to the bar, rubbing against a cute curly-haired blonde going the other way.

The attractive bartendress did not have Red Bull but produced one of those really big cans of a Monster Energy drink. Well I was here after just driving 150 miles, so OK. Shortly thereafter I was joined by the cute curly-haired blonde. Nicely boobed and friendly enough, we exchanged some vague pleasantries and then remarked how dead it was, let’s go try the dance room. Dances in the side lap dance room (4 foot or so dividers) is $25, the rooms in back that are secluded are $45.
