Sleepy Saturday at Midway

Stopped by Midway Invader on a Saturday for the first time in several years after a brief visit at Atlantis. The name stems from the two streets that the club is located on, making it easy to find. The club seemed more run down than I remembered it and seems physically smaller than the other Trinity clubs (Cafe Atlantis, Million Dollar Saloon, and New Locomotion). It is located in an industrial area and shares parking with a business behind it. The layout is similar with sort of clean washrooms (it was mid-afternoon so they weren't deplorable yet), rap music is almost consistently played, and a very dirty mirror is behind the stage. The lighting was easy to adjust to and I could understand what the DJ was saying (which is somewhat rare). The vibe was very quiet and relaxed and I got the impression that the crowd were mostly regulars by how they interacted with the dancers and staff. The waitress was prompt and the manager was friendly and welcoming.

There were around a dozen dancers, mostly on the mature side, who were quick to ask for dances. I recognized some of them from Atlantis so they must split their time between the two clubs. I would say the dancers ranged from 6-8 on the 10 attractiveness scale with a mix of ethnicities. A few dancers were pretty persistent in asking for dances but not rude. There are a few private dancing areas from what I could tell on each side of the club with the stage at one end and bar at the other.

The dance area featured run down chairs and couches arranged by the dancers for privacy and dances were very liberal and $20 each song. An ATM machine is available at a 10% charge so I suggest visiting a nearby bank machine first. I think beer was $8.55 and I always give $10 as a tip. The wrong brand of beer was brought for the first time but not a big deal. There was no cover charge, which is a nice touch.
