Last year I reported on another Massachusetts club where I declined a VIP session simply because I had never received any sort of contact dance anywhere in the state. I’m happy to report that I stand corrected, though it was in a different club!

Mario’s is located off of Route 395 south of Worcester near the Connecticut state line and the shores of Lake Chaubunagungamaug. (Apparently this is a Nipmuc word meaning “lake with a pretty good strip club next to it.) I walked in Sunday night and handed the bouncer one of the free admission coupons from the website…a nice touch there. It was also nice to get a $5 Bass Ale on draft, not just the customary bottle or can.

The club is divided into three main rooms. The front room has the bar, the DJ and a U-shaped stage for the dancers. If you’re sitting in “pervert’s row”, the ledge to put your drink is a little narrow, but I’m nitpicking here. A second room next door has a bunch of tables, TV’s and a pool table. Private dances are held in the third room in back of that. I guess the Champagne Room is located behind the bar, but I didn’t go back there. It’s a nice environment, well lit and clean without being over-decorated. They had a good mix of music too, not just the usual crappy hip-hop.
