After doing a little TUSCL research to find the best-rated clubs in the Worcester area, I decided to spend my Sunday night in two of them. My first stop was at Hurricane Betty’s. Appropriately, I visited at the tail end of what was Hurricane Ernesto, making for a wet drive to the club.

Betty’s is located a few blocks off of Route 290. Parking is in a muddy lot across from the club. I walked in and paid the $5 cover. The room is tight, with an I-shaped stage and a bar at the bottom of the “I”. The private dance couches are located on the left side behind a fabric partition that’s about five feet high. The club’s décor is a throwback to the 1970’s, and I guess the Champagne Room is at the upper left of the “I” behind all those beads.

In terms of looks, the dancers were all over the map with the thicker ones outnumbering the thin ones. After getting my $5 Sam Adams, I soon started getting hit up for dances. My first was Skye (I may be mistaken on this), a chatty, skinny brunette who gossiped about the other dancers. Fortunately Tanya was an improvement, a brunette blessed with a naturally busty figure and great moves. There seemed to be an awful lot of petty gossiping and animosity going on that night. One guy was offered a duo dance as the other dancers looked on in disbelief. Later, one of the dancers apparently tattled on another for offering return groping and nipple-sucking. The bouncer immediately made his presence known, hovering over the partition and looking at every dance. Major buzzkill.
