Better than last year, but not like the good ole days

On Friday night I visited Mario's Showplace for the first time in almost a year. At first I had hesitated to make the trip based on a string of shitty visits last year. But as I entered the club and saw two good looking young chicks on stage buck naked with their legs spread eagle I knew that this visit would be a good one

The basics:

Marios is a very short (less than a quarter mile) distance up the road from the exit 1 interchange off I-395. Parking is behind the building with overflow in the large lot of a muffler repair shop next door. No valet available. The entrance is through a porch where custies hang out and smoke, then you come right into the club. It's 21+ and occasionally they ask to see an ID, but not on this visit. The doorman collects a $7 cover at night right in plain view of the large horseshoe main stage. So it is actually possible to get a very quick free preview of the talent before you pay. Immediately to the right of the entrance (and stage) is the bar where domestic bottles run $5.50. Unfortunately there's only about 8 seats at the bar and overall the club doesn't have enough places to sit or even stand on busy weekend nights. Behind the main stage there's another room with tables and chairs, a very small satelite stage and couches along the walls and a pool table in the very back. Also there's a separate private room that's used for bachelor parties and on very rare occasions when shower shows are done. Closing time is at 1 even on weekends.
