Second Chance

If you read my recent review on Pure Gold, you know that Thursday I had a disappointing visit to Déjà vu and moved on to Pure Gold. Thursday paying the $25 Déjà vu cover (that included one mandatory fountain drink), it included a free pass valid for the next seven days. Plan A was that since I had the free pass, I would check out Déjà vu and unless there was a good reason to stay, continue on to Pure Gold.

The Déjà vu parking lot was a bit fuller than expected for 6:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Parking is free. Often staff is in the lot to watch the vehicles after dark. This time there was a group of men at the end of the row smoking weed. Never did see them in the club.

I walked in and offered the receipt that showed a free pass, expecting to pay some kind of companion charge, like a mandatory drink or “service fee.” In the past I have offered a coupon gained from the local paper that offered “free admission,” and then was told that admission was $10 and the service fee is $10, so while the “admission” was free, I was required to pay the “service fee.” Not this time. The gal at the desk gave me a big smile and said welcome back. “You are in.” No ID scan nor a pat down.
