How the Mighty Have Fallen

It was almost exactly five years to the day that I last visited the Oddball Cabaret. I'd say it'll be another five years before I go back but I doubt it will be there then.

I was heading to meet a friend at 7 PM at Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ which is not far away. Before I got there, the friend texted that he'd be at least an hour late so I had time to kill. I remembered the Oddball was about a half-mile away and that recently, a favorite dancer from another club texted me that she was now working there. So I decided to stop in, which was a mistake. Granted, a lot of strip clubs don't have a lot of dancers at 7 PM but you shouldn't even be open or you should warn customers before they pay the admission price when you only have two, neither of whom were that wonderful.

The place has gotten quite shabby and I think it's darker now to hide the shabbiness. Or maybe they're trying to conceal the women, who weren't too friendly after I resisted their first attempts to sell me lap dances upon my arrival. As I waited for my friend to text me he was near the restaurant, I tried and failed to make conversation with the two ladies or with a few more who either drifted in during the next hour or had been hiding in the back. The mood of the place was just cold and clammy even with rock music blaring.
