A quick drop in left me impressed.

I only had time for a quick drop in to LDL, but I left intrigued and will make a point to come back soon. I’m only in Portland for a couple months for work and am going to try to hit a few different places while I’m here.

LDL is about a mile from my hotel and pretty close to the streetcar. It’s right off the Ross Island bridge in an industrial part of town by the river, but overall the area is pretty clean and I didn’t have any concerns parking in the lot, or with the entrance.

I was there around 3:00 on a Thursday so no cover. Had to take a leak as soon as I got there, the toilet seat looked busted, but otherwise the bathroom was pretty clean. There were between 5-10 patrons in the place, a couple were women. The bartender was friendly and checked my ID. They had a happy hour special and I got a domestic beer for $3 just to break up a $20 mostly.
