The bush company is an alaska institution. The vibe is more of a neighborhood bar than a strip club, the theme is like a log cabin bar very alaskan feel. There is only 1 stage and it does not have a pole.
The club has a long bar with seating in the back, L shaped booths scattered around both sides of the stage along with chairs at tables and seating across the semi circle main stage. The atmosphere is very relaxed, dancers come on shift around 4-5ish and some nights it picks up around 9-10pm.
There are pull tabs, cigarette machine and a pool table off in a corner which is kind of a nice isolated area where you could play a game of pool with a dancer during non peak hours. The club attracts good decent mature clientele who dont bring in any trouble at all, i think the club has made a conscience decision to not play much hip hop to avoid attracting a rowdy crowd but recently they have started to mix in more top 40 type music. Most of the music is country music and rock. Music level is perfect, you can still have a conversation without yelling. The dj isnt annoying but will make a shoutout every now and again reminding people to tip. Lighting is just right to where you can see where you are walking but its dark enough to provide that mystic so the dancer looks better than they would in daylight. There is a bit more lighting by the bar so if you really want to see what a dancer looks like bring her to the bar for a drink. For alaska the quality of the dancers is the highest youll find in state, id say 7/10 on average.
There are easily 20+ dancers on busy nights, many of them have worked for many years at the club but every now and again there is an influx of new dancers coming up because they think alaska is still a gold mine of oil workers. There are mostly white, black and a few hispanic dancers every now and again there is an asian dancer. Youll see at least 1 fat dancer and one short dancer but the rest will be mostly tall and slim, youll see the occasional women with fake assets from out of state. Aside from the ocassional new out of town dancer with high expectations, the dancers are happy and enjoy working at the club. When its slow the dancer to men ratio is really good and you are more likely to get in some good conversation with the dancer.
Drinks prices are very reasonable you can get a draft alaskan beer in a glass for 5.50-6.50 or a bottle beer for about $6, shots or cocktails in the $8-10 range you can even request a basket of pretzels at your table
Topless Lap dancers are now $25 and if space is available they will walk you over to an unoccupied booth in the back. Touching is for the most part off limits unless the dancer invites it, security is mostly stationed at the door and they rarely intervene unless someone is really going overboard which is very rare these days. There is no cover charge. There is not a vip area so really its just dancers or tipping on stage. There is very little pressure to get dances, we go all the time for 3-4 hrs and just hang out and talk to dancers and tip on stage.
Overall i return to this club often due to the casual vibe, affordable drinks prices, low pressure for dancers, safe atmosphere and the good conversations i have had with the dancers. Every now and again i will get a dancers phone number, sometimes its a fake number sometimes its real but good conversation has at least led to the exchange.
