Cafe Cleopatra gets a thumbs down from me. Was in town with a bunch of friends for Jazz Fest and decided to stop in after midnight. We walked in and the place was very crowded, but everyone looked bored as hell.
We made our way across the room past the stage where a dancer was sort of lazily swaying and found the bar tucked back in the corner with some video gambling machines.
Again it was crowded, so it took a few minutes to get a beer and by that time I had looked around a bit. There was maybe 3-4 dancers wandering around, and again... nothing really jumped out at me. After hearing so much about Montreal clubs and it being a Saturday, I was definitely let down. I was expecting some high energy, sexy stuff to be going on, but I wound up just playing some video poker and then cutting my losses. Must have been an off night.
