Here Comes a Regular

I only had an hour to kill on my drive through Eau Claire, so I thought I'd see what Shooter's was like at opening time. (They probably should have asked the pest control guy to park the truck out back. It's not a great first impression.)

Inside, however, it was a lot like cheers. The bubbly bartender put up every local's drinks as they entered the place and brought the bar dice for them to roll for a drink. Though I was very unlike the local patrons (about 20 years younger and wearing office-job clothes) she treated me like a regular.

They open at 4:00 and they waive the $10 cover from 4:00 'til 5:00, so I got in for free. Presuming you lose the dice game, prices are still reasonable. My Spotted Cow (famous Wisconsin craft beer) was $5.75, the same I paid a regular bar in Eau Claire.
