Surprisingly good talent, still a bit of GPS

When this club first opened several years ago as Hustler Club it was my favorite in metro Detroit. Good talent, private dance areas and reasonably priced private dances with very high mileage. Then it went through a cycle where management jacked up the prices, quit hiring attractive dancers and ratcheted back on the level of fun in private dance areas. Not surprisingly, this was a terrible business model and it nearly killed the club.

It was renamed as Dream Girls about a year ago; probably a good move to signal a change in management from the Hustler Club debacle. I still stop by every few months to see if there has been any improvement. On my most recent recon mission, I was very pleasantly surprised at the level of talent. The club probably had 20 or more dancers on a Saturday evening and at least half were very attractive and the others were certainly acceptable. The club does lack a bit of diversity as I only noted two AA dancers but in general, the talent was excellent.

Also, to my surprise, they were renting out their private VIP areas for a reasonable price to the club, something like 20 dollars for 15 minutes, $30 for 30 minutes, etc. This might seem pretty steep to some, but the VIP rooms are first class, some with private bathrooms, roomy couches and stripper poles. All of the VIP rooms were very private. (Word of warning-- there are some lap dance rooms that do not have any privacy but they do not cost extra to rent the non-private lap dance spaces from the club). Dancer fees were on top of the VIP room rentals and this was where the value proposition took a hit, depending on the dancer. I only talked with a few dancers about VIP pricing and prices were all over the place, but most were unrealistically high. I arranged for a VIP trip with Daisy, an attractive, well-proportioned blond who has been dancing at Dream Girls for a number of years. Prices were higher than I typically pay (probably in the ball park of Flight Club and certainly higher than BT's, Landing Strip and other mid-tier metro Detroit clubs). I often prefer dancers who are willing to be explicit about what level of fun is available in the VIP but Daisy seemed to have an a la carte menu with very specific prices and upcharges clearly stipulated. Don't get me wrong, she was still attractive and fun but very matter of fact in a business-like manner. I probably would sample other dancers before repeating with her.
