Gold Room has its good points and its bad points. Walking you through a single visit is probably enough to outline both.

The club is easy enough to find, about 10 minutes south of O'Hare and just east of Scores. I believe it was $6 to use the valet and $10 if you wanted it parked closer to the front, but that's pretty much the last thing on my mind going in. I had free passes I got from a dancer on a previous visit, but I think the cover is either $15 or $20. Again, last thing on my mind, and the free passes are nice if you can get in well enough with a dancer to procure a few.

There are two things I really dislike about Gold Room. The first is what happens when you first get in. After you pay the cover, you walk down a long hallway and a bouncer stops you before you can get into the club. He's nice enough — he shakes your hand, he asks if it's your first time, etc. — but then he almost insists that you go to the VIP area. Now when this happens at Polekatz, owned by the same folks but on the south side, it's a good thing. At Polekatz, you end up in an area behind the DJ where a lot of the top talent congregates, along with a much more private lap dance area. I like being up there, as it's quieter and nicer, as you can see the main stage really well and you often have a better chance at better girls, plus you can even see across the floor and see who's coming in and out of the dressing room on the other side of the club. As a picky customer, I like knowing I can see if new girls are coming out if none of the ones on the floor are interesting me at the moment.
