Tuesdays suck. Hit up Shotguns other nights.

Shotguns is completely packed on Saturday and Sunday nights. From the outside it appears like a much more chill scene during the week, which is why I wanted to check it out on a Tuesday night. I had not been since a couple of shootings took place in the club's parking lot. One of them involved the staff but no serious injuries, while the other involved only patrons but ended up resulting in a death. The first thing I noticed entering the club was an armed security guard at the front door. That was something I hadn't seen before. I wasn't sure whether to take that as a reassuring sign that management was cracking down on thuggery, or whether they were having continuing problems. The vibe seemed pretty normal, despite the recent nonsense, so I think it's gotten better.

It was around 11pm when I went inside. Getting in the door was pretty quick with a $10 cover. I entered the show floor and all the stages were occupied. I walked by each one. However, the girls were definitely B or C teamers. I liked the fact it was mostly my type (hispanic and white chicks), but the best looked barely average. The place was totally dark, with some mediocre electronic music. I figured I'd hit up one of the bars and then check out the stages, hoping to find someone worth tipping after the line up change. I was hoping the girls on stage were just the bottom of the order, and the best were waiting on deck.

The bars were filled with kinda sketchy burnouts and desperate C teamers. After scanning the 3 indoor bars without much to look at, I figured I'd check out the patio bar (T-bar) and see if there was anything cool going on. The bartender was chill and served me up a $6 craft beer on draft. As soon as he slid me my drink, a desperate C-teamer came up to me with a cigarette in her hand and asked me outright "will you buy me a drink?" I politely told her no, although I was tempted to tell her that she should refine her approach--coming up in my face with cigarette smoke begging isn't a winning strategy when you're a 5 on a good day.
