I will lead with the disclaimer that my experience here has been very much hit or miss, with the emphasis on misses. My visits are based upon convenience and proximity (after business at the nearby D-M AFB); I wouldn't make this a destination across town. With that said, I have had some great experiences with some standout dancers on occasion, but patience is required.

The building is a rather strange old design made to look like a boat (next to a convenience store). That is the extent of the nautical theme. The lot is large and has never been more than half full. When I entered there was the (now) usual quick wand down. I discovered that i had parked in the valet area by mistake (the first couple of rows; not well marked). I paid $5 for the valet rather than move. The cover was $10, but I had the coupon for free admission they always have on their website. The girl at the front desk ( a cute blonde with a lot of ink) was one of the best there that night, and I hoped she would show up for dances on the floor (I didn't see her, however).

After you enter you have to go down a broad flight of stairs to the main floor. If you're coming in from the sun, it's good to pause for a few minutes and let your eyes adjust. The main stage is ahead of you, with a small stage off to the left. The bar is on the right, with the VIP area to the left. The restroom (troll free) is down a few steps beyond the VIP area. Seating is all around the room.
