As a former Seattle denizen and a frequent satisfied (yes, usually totally satisfied) customer of the old Rick's, I just had to stop in. I had seen reviews, and I wasn't expecting much in terms of the entertainment I formerly enjoyed, but.. I just had to do it.
I was amazed at the total interior remake. Nothing was the same as the old days. That C-shaped set of benches at the far right corner, where you could look left and right and observe hands working like pistons on a dozen laps at any one time... long gone. What a memory that was.
It's nicely done, from an interior decorator"s standpoint. But from an energy standpoint, it's close to absolute zero. At least in the afternoon on a Wednesday. A few lackluster dancers appeared on stage and went through the motions. None approached me or any of the other bored customers sitting here and there.
I can say that I've done the recon. I just had to, for old time's sake. I can also say I won't be back, as far as I can tell. Bummer.
