Not what it used to be...

Living in Huntsville means I go to these places at times. It has been a while, and I was taken back by the cover fee DOUBLING to $10 for Friday and Saturday night. This wouldn't bother m, had it been a better night.

First of all, girls (when I walked in) were all hanging out at the bar. This wouldn't have been a problem but ended up being an issue a little bit later. With all the patrons and girls at the bar, made it impossible to get my first beer upon entry. So sat down and decided to let the waitress do their thing. Crickets. It was almost 15 minutes before I FINALLY got someone's attention to take an order.

After a while was approached by one of the ladies, who had good conversation. Was told during the talk that the owner of The Pony bought The Cherry and Sophies as well. There had been SOME work to update the place from the same-old/same-old, like new steps entry, took out one of the stages, etc. But was basically the same club up to this point.

Was talked into a dance, which I have done here multiple times before. However, those prices also went up. $100 for 15 minutes. In addition, what USED to be the norm for the more pricey dances were no longer the case. The "VIP" area was out in the open with no privacy at all, like it used to be.

Needless to say, the night did not go as I had hoped and was somewhat of a let-down from what this club used to be. Oh well, my other review from tonight will be about their next-door neighbor... and it was DEFINITELY not the club THAT used to be!
