Good, but still not great

As every review about Solid Gold begins: it is back in an industrial commercial area. Not too difficult to get to with GPS. It is a large, flamboyant building - you know it when you see it. I was surprised by how many cars were in the lot at 3:30PM, many more than last time and a promising sign. I parked myself on the side of the main lot, not too far to walk. The valet was sitting at his stand chatting on the phone and did not ask me to pay a parking fee. There were two girls attending the front desk, and they sent me in without a cover.

The club was much, much darker than it was a year ago. Standing at the front doors, there is a bar to the right, about twenty feet away, and hundred feet down on your left is another bar. Both bars were open and only about half the stools taken at each. The stage runs the length of the club between the two bars, with a pole at each end. There are lounge chairs and tables in front of the stage, and booths behind it. To the left of the front door and up some steps appeared to be an area reserved for private parties or something, and behind the booths were reserved seating for the grill, complete with glass partitions from the club proper to facilitate conversation. The bathrooms are on the right, past the bar. They were fairly clean and without an attendant. The private rooms were past the left bar.

They were constantly running two girls on stage at a time. They danced three songs each. First stripping off their gowns to bra and panties, second taking off their tops, some took off the panties for the third song, and some did not. Solid Gold advertises very prominently on their website that they are panties-free. How about some truth in advertising? The music was a good mix of pop and hip-hop, nothing too obnoxious; but loud enough in some bar seating that I had trouble hearing the girl talking and had to shout a bit myself.
