First afternoon at Bogarts

I was visiting Detroit and had an afternoon to kill so I decided to check out Bogarts. Short version: relaxed atmosphere, not a lot of lookers but high mileage. About what I expected.

I showed up early in the afternoon and was happy to see a bunch of cars in the parking lot (dead clubs suck if you aren't there to see an ATF). Paid the $5 cover and sat down near the stage to check out the scene. There's one large T shaped stage and a couple of satellite stages and there were generally two dancers on stage at a time. I surrendered the ticket the bouncer had given me to the waitress upon ordering so I guess it's a one drink minimum. She apologized at having to charge me $10 for a bottle of water.

Overall I was not impressed by the selection of dancers. Most were old, heavy or both. Mostly white with a couple of AA's in the house. The best body I saw was a black spinner who looked pretty young and tight from across the room. Even given the quality of talent most of the dancers spent a lot of time sitting with the various PL's in the place; it definitely had the vibe of a neighborhood joint.
