Comfortable Showbar
On the first day of my visit to the nation's capital, I checked out the clubs in Dupont Circle. I took the Metro to get over to this area because it did not appear that there was a lot of street parking available. The streets are labeled by alphabetical letters so it was fairly easy to find the clubs. A good number of the regular clubs I walked past are gay bars so I headed over to M Street where two strip clubs are near each other: Camelot and Mpire. Camelot appeared a bit more inviting so I tried there first.
There was no cover charge. I sat at one of the tables, and the waitress quickly took my order. I initially ordered a beer and a sandwich for $20.
The dancers who were working the day shift were uniformly pretty, mostly white, late 20s, athletic body types. I tipped a few dollars at the stage for most of the ladies, and they were appreciative. A couple of the dancers approached me and seemed personable. I was not asked about dances and did not see a VIP room, but I bought a drink for a long haired beauty. The day shift appeared low pressure, and it was a nice way to get away from the heat for a couple of hours.
