Thursday, June 6, 2019 must have been the day to celebrate fat and lazy dancers at The Coliseum in Detroit. While it is still one of my favorite clubs, I found this evening (8-10:30pm) extremely disappointing. The club did not have enough dancers to cover all of the positions. Only two dancers on stage at a time, instead of the usual three on the long main stage. The satellite stages were empty.
I was dressed in suit and tie, having just left a memorial service for a deceased colleague, and was ignored by dancers who walked right by me at the bar. At least one dancer at this club told me previously that dancers routinely avoid men of color because of bad manners and low tipping. Well, I'm not White and I'm not a bum.
None of the dancers on this night were above a 6. Chunky, flabby, lazy, cellphone addicted and unimaginative dancing was the order of the day.
I'll wait a while and try again.
