Glad I Like Dives
This was my first visit to this club. I knew from reading reviews that this place has strippers in the afternoon and rock bands at night. As a part-time musician with decades of experience playing in bar bands, I've been in some pretty crappy dives, but this was one of the worst I've ever seen. Well, today I came to play, but it was not a guitar I intended to have in my hands. I was not disappointed.
I was there on a Friday afternoon from 2:45-4:15. Free parking, walked right in, no cover. Bottled water, served by Ms. Misty herself at the bar, was $2.00. Probably 6 or 8 girls working, half black half white, most in the 5-6 range. I sat at the bar, and though they had a stage, I didn't really pay that much attention because the girls kept me engaged in friendly conversation at the bar or engaged in closer contact in the dance room.
Dances are done in a separate room. I mentioned that this place is a real dive, and that certainly extends to the lap dance room. I saw maybe 4 or 5 couches *barely* separated by flimsy black curtains. (One of the couches had a missing leg and wobbled obnoxiously.) It's dark back there, though, which helps create more of an illusion of privacy. While others were getting dances, nobody really paid any attention to things that were not right in front of them. One annoyance was that with the outside temperature being close to 100 degrees, whatever air conditioning they had was barely able to keep up.
