It Takes Only One

On Sunday, the RP opens at 4:00. It is just off the highway and I was passing by about 5:00 and decided it was a good place to take a break. The parking lot had only two cars, so I wasn’t expecting much but parking was free.

The building looked fairly well kept. I couldn’t see a sign that spelled out “Red Parrot.” There was just a sign with a red background and the graphic of a parrot on the front of the building. If there was a letter sign I missed it. The building stands out, because it is among a row of services that cater to truckers, including the purchase and sale of trucks, so I could guess the market easily enough. It looks like your typical southwest structure.

I entered and I was asked for ID. I gave my passport card, as it does not have an address or most of the personal information found on other forms of ID. The cashier looked it over and said that the cover is normally $10, but they were only charging $5, because they only had one girl. I figured for $5 it was worth checking out. No pat down or other intrusion.
