Progress Report: Definitely On An Upswing

I stopped by Fannie’s at about 2:30 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon. The first thing I noticed was that there were many more cars in the small parking lot than I have ever seen here before on my previous, very sporadic visits. As usual, no cover at this time of day. When I got inside, I was surprised to find a very busy club.

On my previous, daytime only visits, I had never seen more than about a half-dozen customers, and about the same number of dancers. This time, the bar was almost full and many of the tables were also. There were also lots of girls. I was told that the there were 20 working, and it looked like it.

I recognized a few of the Fannie’s stalwarts that I see every time, but there were a large number of new girls. The were mostly white—I saw only one black girl. In looks, many were typical of my past Fannie’s visits, which is to say not particularly attractive, but there were also several very cute, young spinners.
