First visit
Having gotten familiar with NYC clubs, I’ve been meaning to check out more NJ clubs. Tonight I thought I’d check out Vic’s Place based on the reviews on this site, but I foolishly thought that the posted hours of 2-8pm most have been a typo. Pulled up at 1am to find it dark, as advertised. Lesson learned.Having taken strike one, I didn’t want to whiff again, so I browsed around TUSCL to find nearby clubs that would be open past 2am. (Side note: it would be great if this site had an ‘open now’ filter.) Hott 22 seemed to fit the bill.
Early signs didn’t bode well. The cover was $20, and upon entering my initial impression was that I just got ripped off. The decor of the place was bare bones—a t-shaped central stage at about waist height surrounded by functional-at-best chairs, a small bar, a few couches off to one side, one door with a red ‘Lap Dance’ sign overhead, another area labeled ‘ VIP’’. There was one chunky (not thick) white girl on the stage and two other only slightly more attractive Latina girls walking the floor. I went to the bar and ordered a beer only to learn that it was BYOB, which, had I realized in advance, would have been a big plus, but as it was, was strike two. (Again, gotta read those reviews in advance.) I got a water, took a seat, and started searching again for a more promising club.
Not long after, though, things started looking up. More girls came out to the floor, and while on average the talent wasn’t a harem of earthly delights, they were generally more attractive than the first few girls I’d seen. In fact, they were a downright diverse crew—from a young, rail-thin light skinned girl, to a Dominicans with one of the most overstuffed plastic booties I’ve ever seen. The other upside to the place was that there was no dollar parade, no yahoos making it rain, and while most of the girls approached me to offer lap dances, they politely moved on when I demurred.
