Go in with eyes open

So you have to know what you’re getting yourself in for (and not getting) at DC strip clubs. Because that will inform your experience and satisfaction. When it comes to Camelot, it’s the granddaddy of DC clubs. It’s been doing what it does for a long time and if that’s your thing you’ll be happy. But if you like more of a participatory experience this ain’t your place.

First of all, it’s in the middle of downtown on a busy commercial street with lots of pedestrian traffic at just about all hours of the day. If you’d prefer a little more anonymity to your outing, Camelot could make you uncomfortable, with your comings and goings likely to be clocked by groups of partiers and tourists going to nearby bars.

That said, the club is professional. Clean, safe, comfortable. Small by most suburban standards but that makes viewing the dancers easier. Food is fine. Great drink selection. Pricey but not rip-offishly so. Remember you’re just a few blocks from the White House, not out in the boonies. So Expect to pay like that’s the case.
