This was the first time I have made it to Phipps in a couple of years of trying. Before, my schedule never agreed with the somewhat limited hours they keep. But it was worth the wait! The bar is a classic northern Wisconsin bar, somewhat small and off on a side road (Phipps Road runs east from route 67 north of Hayward; Phipps is easy to miss; the bar is 2-3 miles down Phipps).

This place is run the way a strip club should be--sexy, fun for both the girls and the customers, and the customers included both guys and their female guests the night I was there. There is no DJ, which is great. The girls just pick their own music and dance, no annoying dunce to comment on them.

The girls are super-athletic, and take tips in just about any way you can think of, and a few I hadn't thought of. Most get all the costume disposed of during the first or second song, and they are onstage for four songs. They sit on your lap, your shoulders, right side up and upside down, and if you don't grab thier tits and ass when its your turn with the tip, they will put them there! There is no need for the Wisconsin tip walk here--most guys were tipping $5 at a clip.
