First time at Hoops

So i was in midtown manhatten for some business meetings and was not really planning on a SC night but went along with a bunch of younger business colleagues who were not ready to call it a night after dinner and drinks around 11pm. I must admitt i am almost exclusivly a lone wolf these days when it comes to clubbing. Just easier that way. Plus a general distrust of exhorbinant NYC pricing had me kind of dreading going to Hoops. Club was right next to another club (Ricks) and was pretty dead when our group arrived. I dont think we paid any cover but i could be wrong as we were all fairly drunk and our group leader seemed to know the doormen. Any way kind of small, narrow bar area with maybe 10 seats. On in further a single round stage, a few tables and more couches in the rear where the lap dances took place. Heard there were vip rooms upstairs but nobody seemed to be using. Quite a variety of dancer looks and shapes. Several AA, a punk or two and some Latinas. Lap dancers were 20 per song with limited contact, depending on the dancer. The hustle factor was quite low, and prices for both dances and drinks very reasonable for NY in my opinion. Overall not my vibe or kind of place but if you need to find a club in NYC you could do a lot worse. Probably not returning anytime soon.
