Tuesday $10 dances lured me to the Landing Strip the last Tuesday of the month. Arrived at 5pm and left after 10pm. The parking lot had quite a few expensive shiny cars. So someone has a lot of money. The entrance doors are tinted and as well as the second entrance doors. The two separate second doors inside the entrance go to the same small counter with the cute door girl. Before 5pm there was no cover charge. The girl has a bowl for tips if you are inclined. Behind the door girl is a security monitor of the parking lot located above to the right of the counter. Across from the counter is a hallway to the restrooms and straight ahead past the counter is the club. Usually a waitress will take you to a seat if there is a waitress around watching the door. If no waitress is around to snag you, you can wait for your eyes to adjust and snake through the tables and chairs by yourself or wait for a waitress. Management seems to favor the short, friendly hot looking waitresses. Later in the evening beers were $4-$5 and soda around the same. There is no dancer drink hustle like a couple of other clubs in Austin. The legal smoking patio is hidden though the plastic hang doors to the right of the main stage. It is an outside patio with umbrella tables and chairs. The waitresses occasionally serve outside. The dancer shift change is at 7 PM, when most of the day dancers leave, but a lot of night girls show up later when more customers arrive around 9 PM. Right before 7 PM the dancers are waiting to go home and after 7 PM some dancers are waiting in the dressing room to go on stage. You can see varied eye candy but not many laps going on at this time. Around 9 PM the place picks up with more customers and dancers earning a living. There were too many dancers to count after 9 PM. I noticed a new large, bald, friendly night manager who seemed to be actually working hard. He’s so big he could pick any of the dancers up and throw them out the door, even the chunky ones. The night waitresses were unusually lovable and hard working. Later in the evening the club had an atmosphere of a party with talking and laughing as it filled up with customers and dancers. I was impressed with the laid back friendly atmosphere. The dancers appeared having a fun time and not just another day at work. The night girls varied in every appearance and manner. The dances all seemed to be typical Texas contact style. One of the blonde dancers had the largest pair of naturals that I have ever been closely associated with. Another biting Hispanic dancer provided the roughest lap dance I have ever been overcharged for. One cute dark haired pole flying babe charmed more cash with her exotic moves. There were no 10’s and no 1’s,2’s, or 3’s. If you need 9’s or 10’s to have a good time you will have to hunt hard and wait long. You can have plenty of $10 dance fun all day and night on Tuesdays.
