The best thing in the Quarter
Was in NOLA for the weekend before Fat Tuesday which I learned is about the most crowded that city ever is. What a collection of people from all walks of life in all forms of attire or lack thereof. Holy shit, I saw so many females of all ages flashing boobs out on the street and in the "normal" bars that I barely had any need to visit a strip club. Honestly, the only reason we stopped in the Penthouse Club was to get away from the crush of people out on Bourbon to have seat for awhile and relax.
It was $12 to get in and a beer was a reasonable $7; not much more that what we were charged elsewhere. The attractive waitress also brought my accomplice an ice water free of charge. The building has been described before, well appointed multi-level structure with large spotless restrooms..... during Mardi Gras that in itself is almost worth the price of admission. Two circular main stages that the dancers rotated to. From what I could see there were 20-30 ladies working all of which were in the 7-9 range.
During our stay we were treated to see the Twin Things dance consecutively on both stages and they actually had on outfits that had little round patches on their tops that said "Thing 1" and "Thing 2". These sisters put on a show, must have been rhythm gymnasts or synchronized swimmers or something in their previous lives. I have rarely seen two dancers that were better on the pole from a pure athletic ability standpoint. Knowing the high cost of dances and lack of contact we did not partake in any private dances. Just took in the show for a half hour or so and then headed back out into the fray.
