High end turnaround!

Have you ever walked through a door and wondered if you were in an alternate reality? That's what it was like when I walked in here. I'd been to this location before as Slappy's and then the Blue Goose so when I saw a new sign out front I figured I'd stop and see what was happening. Nothing prepared me for what I was about to see.

Located at the extreme north end of Paterson this club is near Fair Lawn and Hawthorne by a busy intersection off of the north end of Route 20. The neighborhood is commercial with some residential along the side streets. It's not bad but it's not pretty either. Parking is on the street and it can be difficult to find someplace that isn't a block away, that combined by the busy road out front makes for an unimpressive curb appeal.

Walking up to the familiar unmarked door everything felt like another Paterson dive. But once inside it was like I was transported to Taboo, Satin Dolls, Lace, Bourbon St or another top end club. You walk in thru the entire old club space which now functions like an extra bar to a huge two story space with a massive raised central dance floor and surrounding bar. There's tons of room at the bar, seating all around, newly finished stone walls with mirrors all around, up high there are flat screen TV's everywhere. Top flight drinks, seem to be a thing as occasionally the hot bartenders will bring out a flaming bottle topped with sparklers and present it to a group of patrons.

Despite the proximity to Paterson the clientele was highly mixed, there were a few groups of black guys one group really liked to make it rain and was throwing money at every ass they saw, there were a bunch of white guys and a group of latinos, there was even a group of middle aged women having drinks and chatting up the dancers.

The women that night were exceptional. These were not over the hill hip swayers doing the dollar parade. There were top grade exotic dancers here, girls who got face down ass up and twerked so hard you could hear the clap over the music. Some dancers worked the pole like gymnasts, with choreographed moves, including my favorite the hands-free inverted death dive. These girls spoke fluent English in addition to Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, or whatever other languages they knew. They were all friendly and pretty, and I ended up staying longer than I had intially planned, chatting up one gorgeous Parisian girl.
