I was in town for work and had a few hours to myself on a Thursday night in November. I went at about 10PM.
It was slow when I got there, only about a half dozen other customers. All customers were there solo, no groups. The customers were a mixed bag, a couple professional looking types, a couple blue collar types, and a couple guys that looked like regulars. The music was decent, not too loud and varied based on the girl dancing. There was definitely not any rif raff there when I was there, felt safe and secure there.
The club was overall clean and had decent lighting. They only had one stage going when I was there, but had capacity to have more than one girl going at a time. There was a private dance room off to the side and a VIP up top. Privates were $25 and VIP was $100 for 10 minutes.
The girls were in big time hustle mode when I got there, presumably because it was a slower night. There were four girls working and just a few more customers than girls. I got hit up for privates by three of the girls within 15 minutes of being there. I ended up going with a little blonde that best fit my taste.
I did a private with her, she knew what she was doing, was instantly trying to upsell me on the VIP, promising that it got better up there. I did 20 minutes in the VIP with her, she was talented, put her kitty on my face, had me take my shirt off, kissed me a little bit, but said we had to be mindful of cameras though.
The girls were overall mediocre. There was a fit little blonde with a not super pretty face (not ugly, just not overly pretty), a black chick with great legs and medium prettiness, and a cute little brunette with a lot of tattoos but a little sloppy in the body. There weren't any girls that made me come anywhere near saying "wow", but there also weren't any that I wouldn't have been willing to buy a private from. The black girl and the little blonde were well above average dancers.
Value was good. I can't remember how much cover was but it had to have been less than $10 otherwise I would have remembered it. Privates were $25, VIP was $100 per 10 minutes.
I would definitely go back again. I haven't been to the other Des Moines clubs so I'm not able to compare. If I had one criticism it would be that on the night I was there the girls were good but not great--like I said above, there was not a single one who made me say "wow", but I would have gotten a private from any of them. For that reason I might try a different Des Moines club before going back to Minx. However, if I knew that Minx had a wow-worthy girl working I wouldn't even consider other clubs because I liked the vibe at Minx so much. For a weeknight trip to the strip club in Iowa, I had a great time.
