Bad first impression

Stopped by Scores on a Friday night during Mardi Gras. This was my first visit to New Orleans, so Bourbon Street was almost more than I could handle, and definitely crazier than I was expecting. Went inside, was told there is no cover charge, so that was a big plus. The ladies dancing, however, were mostly not to my liking - attractive enough to others, I'm sure, but not what I was into at all.

Waitress comes by a moment after one of the dancers sat down to chat with me, which was only a moment after I'd gotten there, so kudos for the fast service and greeting. Waitress asked if I'd like to buy the dancer a drink, standard question, the dancer declined, so I'm getting a good vibe so far. Decided that even though she wasn't really my type, I should get a dance from her because she declined the drink, saving me what I'm guessing is at least another $15.

We went upstairs to the dance room, and that's when things went downhill. First, there is no privacy whatsoever in the dance room. Not even the illusion of walls, it's a large room with six or seven couches and chairs around the perimeter all facing inward. Anyone in any of the seats can see everyone else in the room. The dance was $40, a little pricier than I'm used to but whatever. Unfortunately, the dancer in question had an unpleasant odor about her that only became evident when her body was pressed close to my face - not pressed into, mind, the dance was a bit of an air dance with minimal contact, and only one-way at that. But when her chest or stomach or even neck was within about 6 inches of my nose, the odor was moderate but unmistakable. That kind of turned me off the club entirely, and I don't think I would go back. Maybe it was the humidity that night, maybe it was just that dancer and something she'd had to eat or drink that day, but it turned what was becoming a rather positive first impression into a negative.
