Nice Club. Too nice for me.

Never been to Hickory, but last Saturday I was driving through the area on I-40 and stopped for dinner and some quick recon on two clubs, Playhouse and Treasure Club. After a meal at Olde Hickory Station (a converted railroad depot downtown), I hit Playhouse first, about 7:45.

The entrance is in the back of the building, away from the road and away from prying eyes, if that matters to you. There is a large lot with ample free parking. I paid $17 to get in, $12 of which was for a membership. The manager was talking to the door girl when I came in, and he was very welcoming and friendly.

The place was quite large and pretty upscale, but at this hour there was not much happening (I think they opened at 7:00). Other than one person at a table, the only souls visible were sitting at the bar, including two very young-looking dancers. I took the last seat at the bar, next to the two girls, who only interacted with their phones. I chatted briefly with the bartender, a young girl in a skimpy outfit, who said she had just started bartending there. Bottled water was $5.00.
