Sometimes you try a dive
About once a year, I stop by this place in the afternoon. I have had a few decent experiences, probably more bad than good. A few years ago I heard that this place was closing, but it seems to be existing if not thriving. The outside of the club looks decent, the parking lot is tight as cars park along the narrow entrance drive on both sides. There is some parking in the back, but everyone seems to like the entrance way. You enter into a small alcove and need to show ID and pay. This is about the only Charlotte Club I know that charges a day entrance. I had to update my MAL membership to get in which cost $20. I did it, already thinking with the wrong head.
I Went in and there were about 8 dancers and 8 customers. That is more of both than I have seen on recent visits (again, my visits are very spaced out). The dancers were all sizes, all ages, mostly white. I do mean the all ages and all sizes. I am sure that there were two dancers that were 45 and at least one that topped 180. I went to the bar and ordered a Gin and Tonic. The young country girl bartender did not know what a Gin and Tonic was. I explained it to her and I was still getting a very questioning look, so I switched to a beer. About two minutes later the bar tender comes over to me with an almost empty bottle of Tanqueray Gin and asked if that is what I wanted? Duh.
The first girl that came to me was about 30, really skinny, not bad looking with just a little baby damage. She gave a good grind, but I put my hands on her and she immediately told me no touching on the floor. (I have been there many times and never got that before). One and done with her. I do like one of the older dancers, I have gotten really good dances from her before, but she is busy and I am not that patient. Eventually, another older dancer (she said 41) came by. She immediately gave me the L & L handshake which was nice, but the handshake was accompanied by a request for a shot. I don't like the reauest for a drink before we have said or done anything, but I complied. I kind of liked the dancer, even though she may have been a 6 on looks and a 5 on body. (There are worse here). Got two dances, decent grind, a brief outside the pants rub, but nothing to write home about. The other older dancer was still busy, so I decided to cut my losses and head out. None of the dancers ever asked me for a VIP. The VIP area is a joke, it is a raised area right next to the DJ and in full view of everything. It does have this shear curtain pulled around it, but you are still on display. Despite this, I have had some surprising mileage in this area.
In summary, the place had more dancers and more activity than usual. Don't order anything too tricky at the bar, stick with a shot or a beer. The dancers run the gammet, there was a very attractive blond that I noticed upon leaving, but there are lots of country girls with some very hard road. I hate that you have to have an up-to-date MAL membership to get in free during the day. In the end, it is worth a shot once in a while and I will stop again.
