Not so Vivid
Had some time to kill in the neighborhood, so I dropped in during the late afternoon. Smallish club, warm greeting at the door and no coat-check fee before 8-8:30, which were pluses; also no entry fee. Club consists of the coat room, then a 15-foot corridor. Past it on the left is a stage area, one pole, with about 20 tables and 2 seats at each one, and in front of you is a bar opposite an elevator. Past the bar is the men's room (door left open) and opposite the bar, in a niche next to the elevator, is a couch that could fit 2 customers for dances.
I was escorted to the bar by a friendly door man, as if to ensure I'd buy a drink. So I bought a drink ($11 for a shot) and was immediately set upon by a pair of South American girls. They weren't really my type, but they weren't exactly high-pressure, so I tipped them and they seemed happy enough with that. Girls seem to work in pairs because when another girl came by who was more what I was looking for, she invited her friend over. I hung out with them for a bit, had a couple of drinks, one dance for the record and that was that.
Dancers were 6s and 7s who could have been 7s and 8s with a little effort. Good bodies but kind of rough around the edges, maybe some guys like that. I didn't have a horrible time, but for the money I would have done better at Rick's, which owns Vivid and was only a couple of blocks away. Wasn't very busy when I was there, and the customers seemed like the kind who would pick Vivid over Rick's because there wasn't a coat check or entry fee.
