Ok if you're looking for something different...
After a few trips down to TJ to visit the usual spots (Hong Kong, Chicago), I decided to walk across the street to Bar Tropical for a change of pace and see what it was all about.
First off, I was surprised how busy the place was. Nearly every table was full and so was the bar. People were up dancing on a dance floor, and not strip club "dancing" but actual night club/salsa bar dancing. There was festive music blasting and overall the vibe seemed more like a typical bar you'd find in Cabo than a club in the Zona Norte.
The girls in the bar didn't look like typical working girls like you'd find in other clubs in the immediate vicinity. Looking around many of the patrons and couples looked like they might have even come together. There also seemed to be more locals than anywhere else I'd been. Overall I got the vibe this was a more of a low key spot that still offered all of the vices of the other Zona bars, but wasn't in your face about it.
