Visited over Easter...
Visited over Easter weekend ( Fri. night.) While the Canadians seem less uptight about sex and nudity in general (than in the States), the strip club scene here in Victoria is quite tame. The club is well appointed inside with good lighting and a first-class elevated stage. However, that's all that happens here.
One dancer at a times comes on stage for a four-song set. Lots of choreography, customes, and pole work (actually two poles and a swing.) Nude by the fourth dance is the routine, usually on a blanket on the stage. Although there are many chairs at the rail-stage edge, tippings is rare at best. Canadian paper money starts at $5, so that may be part of the reason. After the set, the dancer disappears and a number of songs pass from the DJ booth (maybe 15 minutes or more). Gets a bit boring, unless you're Canadian and there's a hockey game on TV. Yes, they lower big TV screens. More like a sports bar. ( No evidence of any VIP rooms, although except for the current on-stage dancer, there are no other dancers anyway.) The other "peeler bar" in Victoria called The Fox at the Red Lion Hotel operates the same way.
